Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands as one of the most transformative technologies of the modern era, revolutionizing the way we live, work, and interact. At its essence, AI refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines, enabling them to perform tasks that typically require human cognition. Today, AI permeates diverse domains, from healthcare and finance to transportation and entertainment.
Keeping with its ethos of preparing its students for the modern world by adapting latest technological advancements, Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth organised sessions on AI for its students and some of the teaching staff. Taught by Prisha Shroff and Iraj Shroff from USA, the workshop aimed to demystify AI and its applications, offering a hands-on experience to over 175 students.
The session commenced with an insightful overview of AI, its significance, and its vast applications across diverse domains. Through interactive sessions, students explored AI tools like Quick Draw, ChatGPT, Grammarly, and SlidesGo, unravelling the intricacies of image recognition, natural language processing, and writing enhancement. Quick Draw, a Google-powered AI game, sparked excitement as students witnessed machine learning algorithms interpreting their drawings. Subsequently, ChatGPT captivated minds with its conversational abilities, paving the way for exploring text generation and translation in Gujarati. The session also introduced Grammarly, illuminating its grammar-checking prowess, while SlidesGo showcased AI’s capacity to simplify presentation creation. Throughout, emphasis was laid on ethical AI usage and privacy considerations.
The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the potential of AI tools in academic pursuits and skill acquisition. The workshop not only provided practical insights into AI applications but also ignited a deeper understanding of its ethical and societal implications. The session was a pivotal step in preparing students for the AI-driven future, fostering curiosity, and nurturing responsible AI stewardship.
